2007 Show Highlights

2007 Show
Battle of the Automotive Technicians
(engine assembly competition)

The extremely popular “Battle of the Automotive Technicians” returns with teams of two competing to assemble a V8 engine in the fastest time.  The winners will share over $6,000 in cash, trophies and major merchandise prizes from Canadian Tire and other generous sponsors.

The big news this year is that we are moving back to Prairieland Park on the exhibition grounds; we are celebrating our 50th year as a club promoting safety and responsibility in motor sport; and, we have deconstructed and reconstructed project ’65, a 1965 Pontiac Custom Sport Convertible as the prize for our raffle to raise money for Camp Easter Seal.

The car show is a judged competition where exhibitors compete for their share of over $10,000 in trophies and cash prizes.  The door prize is a set of Goodyear tires from Saskatoon Goodyear Select Dealers.  Lots of eye popping hot rods, wild customs, intriguing antiques, and special interest vehicles with dazzling chrome, exotic engines and striking paint will make this show bigger than any previous car show.

The 50th anniversary theme will be seen throughout the show.  The Edmonton Street Rod Association is presenting a tribute to the Draggins and their 50th year; the 5-6-7 Car Club is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1957 Chevrolet and will exhibit many of these cars; the 1957 Ford Group are a combined group showing all 1957 Ford cars; and the Draggins will have a large display of their club cars.
