Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Saskatoon-Sept.9 2012Some club members supplied cool rides for the gala event, some even handing the wheel over to the performer for the ride from the back of Credit Union Centre to the fans stationed out front, waiting for their favorite singer to appear for the televised awards show.

Cheque Presentation For Camp Easter Seal - Nov 19 2012

Every year around this time is a special night for the car club. President Bruno Konecsni presented this year's contribution to Saskatchewan Ablilities Council to continue the Draggins support of Camp Easter Seal. Camp Manager Su Huynh accepted the cheque of $30,000 on behalf of the Council & expressed much appreciation to the members. She had news of some of the plans that the Council is considering for the always evolving camp facilities. The evening closed with members enjoying the pizza the Council brought along....many thanks for the tasty treat!
Santa Parade-Nov. 18 2012
Lots of excitement, beautiful +4 temperature, a ribbon for first prize in the automotive competition hanging on the front of the truck all made for another fine outing for the club members. The parade theme was "A Cartoon Christmas" & fit perfectly for a car club entry. The "Draggin" rode up front in the Draggin hotrod & the children always love to see that! Thanks to all the members & families that spent many nights preparing the float & bringing out their cars for the parade. Thanks also to Trevor Affeldt for donating and driving his tractor unit, Romeo's Trucking Ltd for use of their trailer, and our much appreciated supporters in the business community.




Little Manitou Lake - Sept. 2012
Many members & their families closed down summer car activities with their get-together at Manitou Lake. Lots of relaxation, swimming, walks, fireworks and great barbeques.




Cruise Day-August 26 2012
Members joined with the many car enthusiasts to enjoy the annual event in downtown Saskatoon. Over 800 vehicles lined the streets and thousands of people toured the variety of cars, trucks, and motorcycles.






Club Appreciation Night-June 4th 2012
We enjoyed hosting a barbeque for fellow car enthusiasts & friends of the club. Great weather, good food, lots of visiting & checking out everyone's hot rods & classics. Winter months have been well used to make changes to their rides & to finish new projects. Thanks for attending!




Presentation to Jack Alexander at Draggins 2012 Car Show
Our car club would like to recognize the continuing support of one of the alumnus of the Draggins Car Club.. While he may have left an active role in the club many year's ago, he has continued to participate for many years as a judge at our annual car show. He has been an inspiration to other members through his fellowship and example. I'm pleased to have the opportunity, on behalf of the Draggins Car Club, to present Jack Alexander this award reflecting our appreciation of his many years of dedication to our club and our car show.

Camp Easter Seal - Dec. 5 2011

Santa Claus Parade-Nov 20 2011
The club float looked great with lots of pine trees & a Dec. 24 look at an old Ford & then, with the miracle of Christmas Eve, the vehicle is transformed in to a great salmon colored Ford Hot Rod. The very cold weather did not dampen enthusiasm along the parade route. Thanks go to all the participants riding on our float, member's and friend's children and our guests from Camp Easter Seal. Thanks also to Trevor Affeldt for donating and driving his tractor unit, Romeo's Trucking Ltd for use of their trailer, and our much appreciated supporters in the business community.

Appreciation Evening- June 2011
An enjoyable evening was hosted by the Draggins members for fellow car enthusiasts & friends of the club. Lots of chatter and so good to see all the projects on the road after the long winter. A real collection of hot rods, classics, cycles, and rat rods. The cooks kept the hot dogs coming and the conversations carried on for hours. Thanks for attending!






City Names New Subdivison Park in Honor of Draggins Rod & Custom Car Club
Early spring 2008, Draggin members were honored to learn that Saskatoon City Council had named one of the new subdivision parks, the Draggins Rod & Custom Club Park. It is a large, winding park located in Hampton Village in the north west corner of the city. The club was able to view the proposed area at the time of their 50th reunion in July. It was completed in spring of 2009 and the sign was erected Dec 2010.

Santa Claus Parade Nov. 21, 2010
The cold weather did not hamper the crowds in downtown Saskatoon. The Draggins float followed the "Rock & Roll Christmas" theme complete with large guitar, notes, 45 rpm records on the side, poodle skirts & good music to accompany all. Thanks go to all the participants riding on our float, member's and friend's children and our guests from Camp Easter Seal. Your enthusiasm lit up our float on the route and we enjoyed our visit with you over hot chocolate and hot dogs to complete the day! Thanks also to Trevor Affeldt for donating and driving his tractor unit, Romeo's Trucking Ltd for use of their trailer, and our much appreciated supporters in the business community. We had a great time and look forward to next year's Santa Claus Parade!






Saskatchewan Abilities Council-Nov. 2010
Club Members & families gathered to celebrate the yearly happening that they all enjoy. President Neil Taylor presented the Draggins Rod & Custom Car Club of Saskatoon's donation of $44,000 to Joyce Phillips, Regional Director of the Saskatchewan Abilities Council to continue the Draggins support of Camp Easter Seal. Joyce said the camp is always very appreciative of their support & presented the club with a framed photo of the tractor they had purchased for moving many things around the facility. Many thanks to the Council for this & for the pizza shared by all.

Santa Claus Parade-Nov. 22, 2009
A beautiful sunny day brought out such a large crowd to line the parade route. Thanks go to all the participants riding on our float, member's and friend's children and our guests from Camp Easter Seal. Your enthusiasm lit up our float on the route and we enjoyed our visit with you over hot chocolate and hot dogs to complete the day! We had a great time and look forward to next year's Santa Claus Parade!
9th Annual National Philanthropy Day-Nov 13, 2009
Members attended the luncheon, and along with others, were recognized with an Honoured Supporter Award. The following are some excerpts from the Awards bulletin. "For almost 20 years, hundreds of communities across North America have come together to recognize the countless ways philanthropy has affected our world. Officially recognized on Nov 15, National Philanthropy Day is celebrated by numerous fundraisers, government leaders, businesses, and individuals who wish to honour all the contributions philanthrophy has made. NPD provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and all it has accomplished, as well as what there still is to do. This year, tens of thousands of people will show the world that the spirit of giving is alive and well, and stronger than ever. National Philanthropy Day is the day we recognize and pay tribute to the contributions that philanthropy and philanthropists have made to a sustainable future for all people."
" The Draggins Rod and Custom Car Club was nominated by the Saskatchewan Abilities Council..they have contributed over $1,000,000 to Camp Easter Seal and the Saskatchewan Abilities Council over the past 40 years. The Draggins' funding has supported the construction of a new aquatic centre, recreation centre, Panabode cabins and a medical cabin at Camp Easter Seal. The Draggins' wish is that each camper has a very memorable experience at Camp. The Council's relationship with the Draggins Club means so much to everyone associated with Camp Easter Seal."
Cheque Presentation to Saskatchewan Abilities Council
On Oct 26 2009 club President Bob Gunn presented a cheque for $40,000 to Ian Wilkinson of Camp Easter Seal. These proceeds from the club's Easter car show will continue to be put to best use by the camp to help provide a memorable summer vacation for all those attending. The members and their spouses enjoyed visiting with the camp representatives and the wonderful pizza supper supplied by Camp Easter Seal.
A letter of appreciation has since been received from the Regional Director.
Summer 2009 Odds'n Ends
The Draggins members took part in many summer activities, sometimes they remembered to take their cameras!
Cruise Weekend Aug 29-30/09
Saturday afternoon of Cruise Weekend the residents of Sherbrooke Centre enjoyed the many vehicles that passed slowly through their home driveway. Fourteen Draggins member's cars took part and they all appreciate the many waves, smiles and hand clapping from the residents. They hope to do it again next summer. The members continued their cruise through town returning to the clubhouse for a barbeque. Good Day!
The club was asked to show a few cars in front of the Rock 102's Boxer Bash at the Bessborough Friday Aug 28th. The event raised $1.5 million for the Leslie & Irene Dube Urology Centre of Health at St. Paul's Hospital. The members were treated excellently and enjoyed meeting the guests as they arrived. Thank you to Lorna Callbeck, Director of Development, for the kind letter of acknowledgement that the Draggins Car Club had added value to an incredible night!
Cruisin for a Cause, A & W's day in support of Multiple Sclerosis Aug. 27th/09 was a big success with a huge number of classic cars at all of the locations. Besides enjoying the food, of which $1 of every teenburger sold went to the charity, the Draggins Club members presented the Stonebridge A & W manager with a $200 donation towards MS. It is a special cause for the Draggins as one of their long time members is dealing with it. Club members attended a number of different Dub locations and all enjoyed getting together.



Rosetown's Dusty Wheels Car Club Show, Sept. 27/09, was another trip that club members enjoyed. Although a chilly fall day for some travellers the reception inside is always warm and a good time!




Regina Majestics Car Show


April 25th and 26th, 2009 several Draggins members attended their annual car show. Bruno Konescni, Glenn Hoff, Gary Gryschuk and Bob Gunn had their cars entered and all enjoyed the weekend events. Other members drove down to take in the show and renew old friendships. Thanks go to all the members of the Majestics Car Club for their hospitality and congrats on another great show.

Santa Claus Parade
Sunday Nov 16, 2008 was a fun filled day as the Draggins Club participated in the welcoming of St Nicholas to Saskatoon for the Christmas season. The "Santa's Hotrod Workshop" float was a hit with both the crowd lining the streets and the judges, winning First Place award in the vehicle competition.
SuperRun 2008 Guests
July 31/08 members & spouses provided a barbeque & get-together from 6-11pm for entrants attending SuperRun in Saskatoon. Over 100 wonderful cars from all over western Canada lined the streets surrounding the clubhouse. SuperRun is an event held by either Manitoba, Alberta or Sask. car clubs combining their volunteers every three years with the net proceeds being donated to a charity. Many new friends were made & it was great fun to renew old acquaintances. We look forward to seeing them all again in the future.
Club Cruise
June 16/08 members, spouses and invited friends cruised to Jack Wur's acreage and were treated to an evening of wonderful food, automobile memorabilia and classic cars. A great time was had by everyone and the Draggins sincerely thank Jack and his staff for a terrific evening.
Camp Easter Seal Cheque Presentation
October 29/07 was a special event for the club as President Glenn Hoff presented a cheque for $40,000 to Ian Wilkinson of Camp Easter Seal. These proceeds from the club's Easter car show, along with the previously donated $68,000 raised from the project car raffle, complete the club's 2007 donation totalling $108,000. The members and their spouses enjoyed visiting with the camp representatives and the wonderful pizza supper supplied by Camp Easter Seal.
Members attend Dusty Wheels Car Show
Sunday Sept 23/07 several members took advantage of the fall weather and enjoyed one of the last car shows of the season. Attending were Glenn Hoff, Robert Morrison, Bob Gunn, Neil Taylor, Ron Lee, Ken Dawe & Al Kraus.
It was another fine display of Saskatchewan cars and many spectators supported the Rosetown club. On behalf of the club, Glenn Hoff received the plaque for the Club Participation Award and his 1941 Cadillac Coupe won 1st place in the Restored To Original category.
Street Rod 1st place went to a 37 Ford Tudor, owner Margaret Blakely, S'ktoon, built by Taylor Made Street Rods.
Draggins 50th Anniversary
The Draggins held their 50th Anniversary celebrations on July 27th-29th, 2007.
They hosted an open reception at the clubhouse on Friday evening with a wonderful turn out of past members, families, and many car enthusiasts and supporters.
The surrounding streets were lined with the attendees modes of transportation and it was truly a "mini car show."Saturday the clubhouse was a hub of activity with a barbeque luncheon and a short trip to view and take pictures at the new park that would soon display the Draggins Club name.
That evening a supper, program and dance was held at Prairieland Park. All enjoyed the reminiscing,the great food and the chance to be together again. The members received certificates of appreciation stating each members number of years they had dedicated to service and safety. The guest speaker was past member, Ken Achs and current Club president Glenn Hoff hosted the program.Sunday morning bright and early all were together again at the clubhouse for breakfast. Past members and their families found it hard to pull away, many needing to travel some distances to return home.
Credit Union Center Commissions artist Dan Reid
March 2007-The Draggins Rod & Custom Club was presented a beautiful creation titled: "Classic Memories" by local Saskatchewan artist, Dan Reid. The following is an excerpt from the presentation."Credit Union Centre would like to thank the Draggins Car Club for 19 years of classic memories. 1988-2006. Draggins Rod & Custom Club Inducted to Sports Hall of Fame
In January 1997 the Draggins Club was one of the first inductees in to the Saskatchewan Motor Sports Hall of Fame for their contribution they have made to the wonderful world of motorsports.
